After the Motorola Edge series phones leaked ever-so-slightly earlier last month, this is the first time we actually got a proper look at the next generation in the series. Now there are new renders of the Motorola Edge 70 Neo online, revealing both the design, as well as what appears to be a handful of colour options Motorola is pursuing for the device.

Then add that it also recently joined its own Android 17 testing programme in India, and it’s getting closer to an official launch than ever. At this point, Motorola hasn’t said one word on the phone: no specs, no pricing and no availability.

What the Renders Actually Show

The leaked images provide a fairly detailed first look at the Motorola Edge 70 Neo design, and four colour variants, according to a report from The Mac Observer. The obvious features are a flat screen with thin bezels, and a punch-hole camera in the middle. Turn it over, however, and things get crazier: a camera island is raised, and square, featuring three lenses, and the 200-megapixel branding is next to it. The Motorola logo is in the centre of the rear panel, where it has become a hallmark of the brand recently.

Now as far as colour is concerned, the renders depict the phone in dark green, light blue, olive green and a light pink finish. Interestingly enough, the textures are not all the same; even the pink one has a pattern to it, which is not the same as the others. While none of these shades has been officially named by Motorola, a brand that has previously relied on Pantone-branded names for its colourful phones can only guess that will happen here as well.

The Neo Name Isn’t Exactly New

This is not the first time the Motorola Edge 70 Neo name has come up. It had already been seen through Motorola’s Android 17 beta testing program in India, which, in retrospect, was perhaps the first genuine indication that this phone was being prepared for distribution. Beta programs frequently reveal gadget names before they are officially disclosed, and this is exactly what happened here.

There has also been talk about linking the Motorola Edge 70 Neo to the Motorola Edge 2026, which was released in North America in June. However, the camera branding shown in these new images suggests that the two phones may not be identical beneath the hood, and the actual specifications may change significantly once everything is finalised.

Motorola Edge 70 Neo: What We Know So Far

None of this is official yet, so treat it as a working picture rather than a confirmed spec sheet. Still, here’s what the leaks and Motorola’s testing activity have pointed to:

Detail What’s Been Reported
Name Motorola Edge 70 Neo
Status Unannounced, spotted in leaked renders
Display Flat panel, slim bezels, centred punch-hole camera
Rear camera design Raised square camera island, three lenses
Main camera 200-megapixel branding visible on the module
Rear branding Motorola batwing logo, positioned near centre of back panel
Colour options (leaked) Dark green, light blue, olive green, pale pink
Colour names Not confirmed; Motorola typically uses Pantone naming
Software hint Spotted in Motorola’s Android 17 beta testing programme (India)
Related model Possibly linked to the Motorola Edge 2026 (launched in North America, June)
Pricing Not revealed
Availability Not confirmed

A few things are still genuinely up in the air, like whether this 200MP sensor is a repeat of what’s on the Edge 2026 or something else entirely, and how the rest of the spec sheet (processor, battery, RAM/storage options) shapes up. Until Motorola says something officially, all of this stays in leak territory.

Another Addition to an Already Crowded Edge 70 Lineup

If this launch does go ahead, the Motorola Edge 70 Neo would be joining a lineup that’s grown fairly large over the past several months. Motorola kicked things off with the standard Motorola Edge 70 in India back in December 2025. That was followed by the Edge 70 Fusion and Edge 70 Fusion+ in March 2026, though, worth noting, the Fusion+ never actually made it to the Indian market. Then came the Edge 70 Pro in April, and more recently, the Edge 70 Pro+ and Edge 70 Max rounded things out in June and July, respectively.

So at this point, Motorola’s Edge 70 series has quietly turned into one of the busiest phone lineups the company has ever run and the Neo, if and when it arrives, will be just the latest entry in what’s shaping up to be a pretty packed roster.
